With the first snow of the year Rick just HAD to take Daci out in the sled. It was so cute watching him drag her around the backyard on this cute, old-fashioned sled. Daci doesn't have a snow suit so we dug out an adorable one that Penny used with all of her kids (can you say 80's?) when they were about 4 years old :) The arms and legs were about two feet longer than the end of her hands and feet. It was hilarious to see her in it. Also kind of sentimental since Rick wore it when he was little :)

Daci's First Christmas
Christmas Eve night she opened a present from my Grandma (Daci's great-grandma). She absolutely LOVED the book!It was so much fun to have Christmas with a little one. I'm sure they will be even more fun once she gets older and knows what is going on more. We hope you all had a great Christmas!

Merry Christmas!
We decided that we would do a sort of "e-Christmas card" via our blog for our friends to see. Here is our family photo and our Christmas Newsletter is posted below (you will need to click on the image in order to see it big enough to read). We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas. We are grateful for each and everyone of you in our lives! Love, The Roberts

Exciting News!
Rick is in his final year at BYU where he is studying Information Systems, he will graduate in April. Since August he has been applying and interviewing left and right for a good job for when he graduates. He has done really well but unfortunately in this economy not many people are hiring and if they are they are only taking one or two out of a hundred or so applicants. Well, we are excited to announce that last Friday he got an amazing job offer from Pariveda Solutions, an IT Consulting Firm and we will be moving to Chicago in June. We are very excited! I am a little nervous, being the Utah girl that I am, but I know it is what is best for our family. Rick is really excited because Chicago is where he served his mission and he absolutely loves the city and the people. After we got the news we went out to celebrate at Carrabbas (so good!), Daci loved eating the big-girl food :)

9 Months already?!
She went to the Dr's today. She is in the 91st percentile for height at 29 inches long! Wow, she is tall! She has slimmed down a bit and is now in the 59th percentile for weight at 19 lbs 4 ounces.
She still has hardly any hair....except for her mullet in the back. Her back hair seems to be the only part of her head that grows! She points at everything and still likes to wave, but only when she feels like. She refuses to wave when we actually want her to :) Sometimes she thinks she can stand and walk all by herself and she will let go of the couch and turn to us to walk and then topple over. Silly girl :)

Halloween Fun with the Chicken
Daci was an adorable little chicken for Halloween and Rick and I dressed up as her farmers :) Rick's costume was much more realistic, he worked on a farm last summer so he had the whole watering boots going on and my Grandpa lent him overalls and a real farmer hat. I ended up looking more like a cowgirl, but you get the gist of it right?
Daci LOVED her costume and she LOVED her pumpkin! We had fun taking her around to a few family and friend's houses to show her off. She definitely knew she was cute :)

8 months old and cuter than ever!
1. She stands up to everything! She has taken a few spills but they aren't too bad and she is learning how to get down easier with each new fall :)
2. The other day I went in to get Daci from her crib and she was standing up to the side of it. She had white flaky stuff all over her face and I couldn't figure out what it was, then I looked to the back side of the crib railing and she had gnawed her railing! The white stuff was paint flakes on her face. What a goober!
3. She is never happier than she is when she is on her daddy's shoulders. She absolutely loves to be up high. She either puts her hands in his hair and pulls as hard as she can or, my favorite, she holds on to each ear and wiggles them. So funny!
4. She loves to be outside...as you can see in these pictures. She is very interested in the fall leaves right now.
5. Daci now has two teeth, she got her second one on October 10th.
6. She has the most adorable new trick...she waves at everyone!
7. Her three favorite things are kitties, her pumpkin, and the "big buck" hanging in Grandpa Pedersen's house. Whenever she sees these three things she goes "oh! oh!"
8. She still says "mama" and "mom" but no sign of "dada" yet :) Don't worry, she still loves him as much as me :)
9. She has developed a bit of stranger anxiety. It was cute for the first two days but then it got annoying :) If you want to be her friend, however, either wear a necklace or have strings from a hoodie hanging down and she will love you for life as she slobbers all over your front :)
10. We love our little booger and can't believe how fast she is growing up!

Daci's First Cold :(

Daci got her first cold this week. It has been so sad to watch her nose drip like a faucet! Wednesday was the first day she was sick but it was just a runny nose (these pics were taken on that day) and that night was definitely the worst. She went to bed with a slightly stuffy nose and woke up a half an hour later with a fever, scared to death and gasping for air! She screamed and screamed for about an hour, which only made things much worse. It was so sad! Rick immediately went to get Tylenol and a humidifier and they did wonders. She is still sick but surprisingly happy. I hope it is over soon!
