RIck's 28th Birthday

Daci and I started preparing for Rick's birthday the day before his actual birthday.  Daci made him some awesome cards and spent A LOT of time wrapping them up pretty.  We also made him homemade Oreo's (his favorite and a birthday tradition).  Daci was so excited for daddy's birthday.  I made her promise she keep the cards and the cookies a secret until the next day.  Last year she kinda ruined the surprise.... Rick walked in from work and she said, "We wrapped your cookies and your shirts, Daddy!" Haha!  This year she had a lot more self control.  She was really good at keeping the secret.  In fact, I got scolded when I said the word "birthday" at the dinner table. ("Mom! You are supposed to ruin the birthday surprise!")

The next morning Rick went golfing and while he was gone I did a very difficult photo shoot. My kids SOOOO did not cooperate and by my kids I mean Street :)  He wouldn't even look at me, little stinker! Luckily I got it on instagram and facebook about two minutes before he walked in the door :)  I also made him his favorite french toast breakfast and he opened a few gifts from Daci and I at the table.

Later in the afternoon we decided to hit up downtown Naperville.  It was so fun to stroll around.  It had rained earlier that day so not many people were out but it felt great outside and was so fun to wander around!
Our first stop was Daci's favorite....Red Mango!

The babies were enjoying Daddy's silly faces

Then we walked the River Walk.  Daci is getting sillier and sillier in her photos.  She likes the camera WAAAAY too much :)

Silly Pose
The River Walk is absolutely beautiful.

We also hit up our favorite fountain

And had a (very rare) family picture in front of the bridge
I love how the babies are looking at each other :)

Birthday boy with his cute kidlets
That night Rick and I went on a much needed celebratory date.  We tried out the new Q BBQ in downtown Naperville and it definitely didn't disappoint!  The nice thing is there are A LOT of gluten free things on the menu.  Oh, and the food was to die for!

Happy 28th Babe!
