Temporary Bedrest (Hopefully!)

My sister-in-law threw me a beautiful baby shower today with the ladies in my ward (pictures to come soon!) I was having the time of my life! Seriously, everyone in my ward is so sweet and gave me such wonderful and thoughtful gifts!  Right at the end of the shower, when there was just about four people left, I got this sharp, shooting pain in my lower abdomen that went all the way through to my back.  I nearly buckled over in the middle of the room.  I ran to the bathroom and just slumped over on the floor. I was nauseous, dizzy, and sweating.  The pain was so intense.  It was just like what I experienced a few weeks ago when I was walking downtown with Rick, but magnified.  After about 20 mins of not being able to regain myself I asked Carly to call Rick to come over.  He came over and we decided to call the doctor.  She told me that when carrying twins, they never risk it.  She wanted me to go into labor and delivery.  I checked in and got all hooked up to the monitors.  By now the intense pain had subsided but I still wasn't feeling well.  The nurse did a fFN test.  Fetal Fibronectin.  Its a test that determines the likelihood of preterm labor.  We waited in the room for about an hour for the results and they came back positive :(  They told me I had to go on complete bedrest for the weekend and on Monday I have to go get some more tests done. I am so discouraged!  Things have been going so well with this pregnancy and I don't want them to take a turn for the worst!  I'm glad I went in though, and that they are going to do everything they can to make sure I don't come too early.  Let me just tell ya though, I've been on bedrest for a total of 3 hrs and I'm already going looney!  Seriously, how is someone supposed to be on bedrest when they have a very active toddler who just wants her mommy to play with and hold her?  Luckily, its the weekend and Rick has been so sweet to do everything.  Hopefully the rest of the tests will come back normal and I will just need to take it easy the rest of the pregnancy, not be on complete bedrest.  I have too much time left!

Maybe you should get a stack of your favorite movies. It can be so boring though, to be forced to relax. I hope you feel better Kori, and good luck with the rest of the tests on Monday!

:( Hope things get better!! Wish I was closer to help you out, but I'm sure you've got a great network of friends to take care of you. I'm thinking of you, and can't wait to hear an update in a few days. Hang in there and rest rest rest!!

I don't care if you go loony. Stay in bed. Mommy's orders.

Bummer! I hope everything is okay Monday! Take advantage of being able to rest. You won't be able to do much of it when the twins do arrive!

Listen to your mom! You stay on bed rest. There are plenty of us who would be happy to have cute little Daci over. Please let me know any way I can help. Find something you can craft in bed and relax as best you can.

Hang in there. I put your name on the prayer roll at the temple all the time. I have had a lot of FNs done. You can get false positives all the time. It just makes them test you further if it does come back positive. Don't give up hope. I'm sure everything will work out once they test you further but sad to say it's probably about that time when you need to start taking it easy as much as possible. Don't do anything unless you absolutely have to. Go get games and coloring books and crafts to do with daci so you can be down but still playing with her. That's what I've done with my boys. Whenever there having a naughty day because mommy just can't do what I need to. I pull out a new game or craft and there happy and so am I. At least I feel a little like I'm being a good mom. But save them for desperate times. Let me know if you need anything

Korinne - I'm so sorry to hear that! (And I'm so sorry I missed yesterday ... I had to work.) I agree with Lindsay, I've had a bunch of FFn tests, and false positives are really, really common.

Kori! Oh, no! :( I hate this news. I wish I lived next door so I could watch movies with you (and talk!), bring you dinners, fold your laundry, do your dishes, and take Daci to my house to play with Brodey. You are the most poductive mom ever...I know you are hating being tied to the bed. I would feel looney too...that stinks! Although - you're mom is right. Be a looney and stay in bed!!! I'm glad Rick was home for the weekend. We'll be praying for you :) Call me, if you need. Love ya!
