My sister-in-law threw me a beautiful baby shower today with the ladies in my ward (pictures to come soon!) I was having the time of my life! Seriously, everyone in my ward is so sweet and gave me such wonderful and thoughtful gifts! Right at the end of the shower, when there was just about four people left, I got this sharp, shooting pain in my lower abdomen that went all the way through to my back. I nearly buckled over in the middle of the room. I ran to the bathroom and just slumped over on the floor. I was nauseous, dizzy, and sweating. The pain was so intense. It was just like what I experienced a few weeks ago when I was walking downtown with Rick, but magnified. After about 20 mins of not being able to regain myself I asked Carly to call Rick to come over. He came over and we decided to call the doctor. She told me that when carrying twins, they never risk it. She wanted me to go into labor and delivery. I checked in and got all hooked up to the monitors. By now the intense pain had subsided but I still wasn't feeling well. The nurse did a fFN test. Fetal Fibronectin. Its a test that determines the likelihood of preterm labor. We waited in the room for about an hour for the results and they came back positive :( They told me I had to go on complete bedrest for the weekend and on Monday I have to go get some more tests done. I am so discouraged! Things have been going so well with this pregnancy and I don't want them to take a turn for the worst! I'm glad I went in though, and that they are going to do everything they can to make sure I don't come too early. Let me just tell ya though, I've been on bedrest for a total of 3 hrs and I'm already going looney! Seriously, how is someone supposed to be on bedrest when they have a very active toddler who just wants her mommy to play with and hold her? Luckily, its the weekend and Rick has been so sweet to do everything. Hopefully the rest of the tests will come back normal and I will just need to take it easy the rest of the pregnancy, not be on complete bedrest. I have too much time left!
