Motherhood

Mother's Day is tomorrow and I am reflecting on what Motherhood means to me.  Rick and I have so many amazing women in our lives to look up to.  I am so grateful to have my mom, grandmas and great grandma to have been such a great influence on me.  I truly know what a great mom is and I want to be just like them!

Daci and I with my mom in July when we first moved to Chicago

I have such an amazing mom who has always been there for me.  She was always the shoulder I could cry on or the one I could run to with exciting news.  She taught me the correct principles that I should live by and I am a strong and independent person because of her. She is such a great example to me and has so many qualities that I hope to one day posses as a mother.  She is responsible, determined, creative, fun, spiritual, dedicated, and loving.  I hope I can raise my children the way she raised me, with love and discipline.  She is such a great grandma and Daci (and our future children) is so lucky to have her in her life!  I miss her so bad but am so glad that no matter how far apart we live, we will always have a strong bond.  You are the best mom I could ever ask for! Happy Mother's Day, Mom!

Rick and Daci with Penny at Rick's graduation in April 2010

Penny is also such a great mom.  I know this because she raised an amazing son!  I love Rick so much and I am so grateful to Penny for raising him right.  She is such a fun-loving, warm, and enthusiastic person and I hope to be that way with my kids and anyone that I meet. Daci loves her Yia Yia and I can't wait for the rest of my kids to have fun with her and feel her love for them.  Thanks Penny! Happy Mother's Day!

Daci and I in May 2009 (she was 3 months old)

I have LOVED being a mom.  Daci is my pride and joy. Each time I look at her my heart swells with love and admiration.  She teaches me how to be better each day whether it be through trying my patience, or by running up, hugging my leg and exclaiming, "I love you, Momma!" I couldn't ask for a better calling in life than being Daci's mommy.  I pray everyday that I can be the kind of mom that I want to be and that my Heavenly Father wants me to be.  I take my role as a mother very seriously and I want to do it right.  I know that I don't know it all, and that I will never know it all, but that I can learn and grow each day.  II am so grateful to have the opportunity to be a mom. Its all I ever wanted to be!  Happy Mother's Day to me!!!
