Way too old!

Daci in her hooded towel after her bath. She LOVES her baths! She sits in the tub and coos and sucks her fist the whole time. She also loves sucking on our fingers which is my mine is in her mouth :)

Daci having fun on her play mat. There is a hanging rattle by her foot that she loves to kick over and over again. She kicked it so hard one time that if flew off :)

Daci in her bouncer. I think her favorite thing in life is her binkie. She is very particular about her binkie too. She only likes the one that we got in the hospital, she won't take the others that we bought.

This is my favorite time, I love it when she is tired and loves to curl up on our chest to sleep. So precious!

Daci is now over a month old and I just think she is growing up WAY too fast. The fun part about it though is that she is developing quite the fun little personality. She is way more alert and you can tell she is actually looking at us when she is looking at us. She also is a very active little girl. She is constantly kicking and squirming and man is she strong! We love our little Daci. She is so precious!

19 days old

Daci in her CUTE beanie that Tricia, Kelli and Kari Jo gave me at my shower. I love this pic!

She comes up with the craziest positions to sleep in....this one is our favorite :)

Daci with her daddy, she's so tiny she fits on his arm!

We figured we haven't posted enough about Daci so I'm putting a few more on here of her. We have so much fun playing with her...she's like our little toy :) I can't believe she is already 19 days old! My little baby girl is growing up and I just hate it! She went to the doctor's for her two week check up and she is already 6 lbs 15.5 ounces and 20 inches long; he says she is growing like a weed! She is changing everyday and is developing such a fun personality. We just love being around her and have already taken HUNDREDS of photos. Enjoy a few of them.

Daci's First Photo Shoot

Anyone who knows my mother knows that she is the scrapbook queen of the world. Since the day I told her that I was pregnant she has been looking at baby photography to see all the great angles and poses. Just five days after she was born we set up our own little "photo booth" in my apartment. Daci didn't like laying there all alone at first but as soon as I put my hands around her she settled right down and took some adorable photos! Here's one of them.

This is Daci the day after she was born...so precious!

She loves to sleep with her hands by her face.

This is when we took her home from the hospital, she rode the whole way home with her hands in the air! We were't expecting such a tiny baby so the outfit we took to take her home is was HUGE. The pants didn't fit at all and the top was like a dress on her :)

This is what Daci looks like after she eats, she is so alert and happy!

Resting in her bassinet
Daci Paras Roberts. Born February 21, 2009 at 1:20 pm. Weighed 5 lbs 15 ounces and is 19.5 inches long. She is such a tiny little thing! Don't ask me how Rick and I and our long, long genes ended up with such a tiny baby. We still can't figure it out. She is so precious and such a great baby, she is happy all day long and rarely cries....night time is a different story but it isn't too bad :) We love her so much and are pretty darn proud of her. I'm sure there will be many posts of Daci on here, hope you don't all get sick of it!

4th Grade Medieval Party!

This is one of the other fourth grade teachers, Joanna Baginska. We were the "royalty" of the court.

Me with a few of my girls after the party.

Me with the boys in my class after the party.

Three of my boys during the feast; Brendon, Chase, and Andrew.

Me with one of my students, Maliana.

The whole class dressed up in their costumes before we went down for the feast.

Well my last day of school was Friday January 30th. I decided not to go back after having the baby and be a stay at home mom and I am so excited! I did have a really hard time saying good bye to my kids though. They were a rough bunch but I loved them to death. There were lots of tears shed by me and the students on Friday. I was really glad that I was able to have one last hurrah with them on Wednesday day though. We have been learning about the Middle Ages the last few months and on the 28th we had our big Medieval Festival. They each had a role of serf, knight, duke/duchess, or count/countess. The three fourth grade teachers were the royalty so I got to be the Princess- yes, the pregnant princess :) It was so much fun! Many of the students provided the entertainment during the feast. Some of the entertainment included acrobats, musicians, jesters, story tellers, and jugglers. My class also learned a Medieval dance while one of the other classes put on a play. It was a great day and I was very grateful to get a chance to take some fun pictures before I left :)

Four More Weeks!

The day I found out I was pregnant; June 12, 2008

August 18, 2008: 14 weeks. My first day of school (as a teacher), I hadn't told my school yet that I was pregnant and I was just SURE they were going to be able to tell because I thought my stomach was showing....oh geez!

October 2008: 21 weeks. This is me in Malta on my cruise. I thought I was so big then!

October 2008: 21 weeks. This is me in Pisa buying little Pinocchio souvenirs for my 4th grade class.

November 19, 2o08: 27 weeks. This is me before I went to a teacher's conference in Anaheim, California.

December 17, 2008: 31 weeks. Me at the Christmas Party we had with my class.

December 27, 2008: 32 weeks. Rick and I after we went to his mission companion's wedding.

January 1, 2009 (barely): 33 weeks. This is right after we rang in the New Year. You can tell I'm really thrilled Rick is taking a picture of my large self :)

January 3, 2009: 33 weeks. At the shower that my wonderful friends threw for me. From left to right: Kari Jo, Me, Tricia, and Kelli

January 10, 2009: 34 weeks. This is a 4 1/2 generation picture! We took this after the shower that my grandma and aunts threw for me. From left to right: Me, my mom Karen, Grandma Overstreet, and my great-grandma Winona Thorderson (GG). In a few weeks we will be able to take a five generation picture! I think that is pretty incredible :)

January 2009: 35 weeks. Me on my 35 week mark before I left for school. It was 6:30am, thats why I look so tired :)

Well I am only four weeks to the due date as of yesterday (Thursday January 22)! I can't even believe it is so close! I went to the doctor on Wednesday and he said I am already dilated to a one and 80% effaced. I don't really know what that means or if it is all happening early but it made it feel so real to me! Ah! I am so excited to have this sweet girl here with me. Realizing it is so close made me get a little nostalgic and I was looking back on the pics I've taken since I've been pregnant. I thought I would share. Now, no judging because my face is HUGE right now and I'm a little self-conscious. It makes me want to delete all of these photos but I know that I would be really mad at myself later if I did so I'm just going to grin and bear it for now!

4th Grade Christmas Party!!!!

Me and my cute (most of the time crazy) 4th grade class!

Enjoying my hot chocolate :) (I am 31 weeks here)

Me with Maliana, Brendon, and Alex. They are showing off their cute christmas tree ornaments.

Chase and Isaac eating their sugar cookies that they decorated with an inch thick of sprinkles! Yuck!

Me with Shelby, Mariah, Amanda, Chase, and Devin

Caitlin and her Christmas tree ornament

Me with Kenzie, Kaelin, Cierra, and Ellie

Most of you know that I am a fourth grade teacher and most of you also know that I have sure had my ups and downs with this experience. Last week we had a class Christmas party and it was definitely an up! We had a blast and the kids were just so darn cute that day that I had to take a bunch of pictures. They had a bunch of different stations that they were working at during the party; sugar cookie making, a christmas game, hot chocolate and christmas stories, and ornament making.

EUROPE!

Mom and I in the Stardust Theater before one of the shows.

Trying out the cool/funky/crazy chairs in the Spinnaker lounge during the opening social with Close To My Heart.

In October my mom and I were able to go on an amazing cruise in Europe. We visited Barcelona, Malta, Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento, Capri, Rome, Florence, Pisa, Nice, Monte Carlo and Monacco. It was the trip of a lifetime and I can't thank my mom enough for taking me on it! My mom is a director in the company Close To My Heart (its a scrapbooking company) and every year she earns a cruise. We take turns on who gets to go with her each year and this year was my year! It turned out to be perfect because with a baby on the way I probably won't be able to just pick up and leave like that again. We had a blast together and I had a lot of fun spending so much time with her. I have to admit though, I missed my hubby a lot and I am still trying to make it up to him. He wasn't very happy I went on the trip of a lifetime without him :) Here are a few pictures of mom and I on the ship and then there are quite a few posts on the stops that we made during our cruise. Enjoy! (If you are curious, I was 21 weeks on the cruise. I thought I was so big and showing a ton but looking back on these pictures, I barely look pregnant!)

Barcelona, Spain

Asleep in the lobby waiting for our rooms

The fountain and light show

Gaudi's House of Masks

Some columns in the Park Guell

La Sagrada Familia... It is SOOO large we couldn't get a shot of the whole thing

Gaudi's interpretation of the Nativity Scene

Mom and I decided to go a day earlier than the cruise began so that we could have a tour of Barcelona. The day we got to Barcelona was a very interesting one. We arrived in the early morning but the hotel wouldn't allow us to check into our rooms until 4pm. Mom and I were EXHAUSTED after our 12 hour flight to Barcelona and we couldn't keep our eyes open. A lot of the group that came a day early with us went out sightseeing but mom and I were WAY too tired. We crashed in the hotel lobby until our rooms were ready :) Once they were ready we went straight upstairs and fell asleep. When we woke up we weren't sure how long we had slept. We knew it was 6:00 but we didn't know if it was 6 that night or 6 the next morning because it was slightly dark outside. We finally figured out that it was only 6 that night so we decided to go out on the town. We really wanted to call home and let our husbands know that we had made it but finding a phone was an adventure in and of itself! We spent two hours trying to find an international phone card. First, we went into a little convenience store and asked a man if he sold phone cards, he didn't speak very good English but he seemed to understand what we wanted. He handed us a phone card and told us we could call home with it. Then, we told him that we wanted to buy food and all of a sudden he could speak perfect English! We thought this was slightly odd but realized later that we had been ripped off. After searching for an hour for a phone that would let us use the card he sold us we found out that the card he gave us wouldn't allow us to call to the U.S. What a slime ball! So we found someone who did speak English (which was nearly impossible) and he showed us the card we needed and what phone we needed to use for it. I finally got to talk to Rick! That was wonderful. Mom called Dad and got the update from home and then we headed over to the famous light and fountain show that Barcelona has. The next morning we went on a tour of the city and saw some incredible architecture done by Antoni Gaudi. We saw his House of Masks, his Park Guell and the famous Sagrada Familia. I cannot believe what an amazing architect he was, his taste is not exactly my style, but I can definitely appreciate his style. After our tour of Barcelona we boarded the ship and were off!
